None, but previous hiking or climbing experience will help. You need to be fit and healthy and have a good pair of hiking boots and trekking poles. The fitter you are, the more you are likely to enjoy it.
You don't need a mountain climbing gear. We will provide you the tent, sleeping bag and mattress. You will need a small day pack with enough space for wind and rain clothes, some first aid, 3 liters of water and snacks.
Yes, it is expected and much appreciated. The amount depends on the amount of days, but can range from $150 and $300 per hiker. Tips are pooled and shared amongst the crew. Bring US dollar bills.
The ideal booking window is usually b/w two to three months before the trip, so that we can book the good accommodation and get the national park permits on time. Bottom line is, if you know, you want to do this trip, then go ahead and book in advance.
Our tours normally have multiple solo travelers. On all camping based tours, solo travelers are offered single tent for no additional cost. If you are a solo traveler and would like to share a tent with someone, we will try to team you up with another traveler of the same sex.
Our adventure group usually consists of 5-10 persons.
Although our clients are adventurous, they prefer a clean room at the end of the day. We partner exclusively with hotels that have received 4 to 5 star rankings. We also prefer to work with hotels that exude some local culture or feeling in their property. We live by the 4 C's, cleanliness, character, comfort and convenient location.
